All stories collected here demonstrate that numerous unions succeeded in mobilizing and making use of their power resources. By doing so, they achieved material
and political gains for the workers they represent. whether all these »wins« are
sustainable is yet to be seen, but they do inspire us as we seek to build new collaborations with our trade union partners. we hope that the stories of »trade unions
in transformation« will be as much of an inspiration to our readers as they were
